We’ve been to Yumko several times, and every dish has been amazing. We love the hotpot a lot. This time we ordered the spicy beef soup and the crazy tteokbokki — both were delicious. Obviously the best and most consistent Korean restaurants in Canberra. More

Tried a couple of new dishes today and they were surprisingly good. The beef noodle had a nice smoky flavor with generous bulgogi topping, and the noodles were tasty. The stir-fried chicken wasn’t too sweet, and the perilla leaf and powder added a great touch. Portions and price were both satisfying. Had a late lunch at this place today. Hve walked past it a few times n the Korean place I wanted to go to was closed so I headed to this place instead. Omg!!! What a gem of a place!!! First of all. The service. Yes, they mixed up my order and as soon as I pointed it out the staff was very apologetic n promptly corrected the error. She later came out and offered to pack up the wrong order for me to take away at no cost. I said sure ( and so glad I did! - more on that later) she then came back later to offer me a free drink for the mix up. I told her it’s ok. After all, I was getting a free food already n couldn’t accept the drink also 🤗 one must not be greedy 🙌 The food…. The bulgoggi noodle soup dish I had …. Absolutely delicious!!! I can’t vouch for its authenticity but looking around at other diners around me - mostly Asian - I am putting my money it is: or the food is that good on its own merit. I also ordered jalapeño fried chicken and yummmm!!!! I had that and the freebie a glass noodle vegetarian dish - for dinner n again, sooo tasty! It’s not cheap but by geez! They give you a good sized portion for what you buy! The place itself is small n pretty basic but… when food is that good …. I would happily queue in rain to hve a seat there. So do urself a favour and when in Canberra to visit - or a local who has not been there - drop in. Really good food honestly felt like I was back in Seoul. The fried chicken was super crispy and full of flavour, the jajangmyeon had that proper rich taste, and the bibimbap was fresh and so satisfying. Everything just tasted really authentic. The beef rice set was generous in portion, the beef was tender and well-seasoned, and it went perfectly with the rice. I’m always happy to eat here! The food is consistently fresh, and I especially love the super spicy Volcano Chicken, it’s packed with flavor and heat, just the way I like it. I often come after work around 2 PM, even though they close at 2:30, and they still take the time to make fresh food for me without rushing. Really appreciate their hospitality and quality ,definitely one of my go-to spots for Korean cuisine.
